Miss Philippine Tourism 2011

ZURI WEARABLE ART . (Zuri) sponsored the Miss Tourism Philippines 2011 last February 26, 2011 at the Philippine International Convention Center. Miss Tourism Philippines is a beauty pageant that adheres to the essence of young Filipinas today in relevance to their self-esteem, skills, and love for the nation.

Zuri became one of the pillars of success of Miss Tourism Philippines 2011. There had been significant roles played through the course of searching for the right tourism representative. Undeniably famed for its wearable art, Zuri was honored to be the chosen design and manufacturing company for the production of the winners’ crowns. Among the 10 candidates, three of them were privileged to behold Zuri’s wearable art. The raw materials, the process of making, and even the meaning of the crown gave allure to every Filipino (http://wearableisthenewfashion.blogspot.com/ – Title: The Crown of Filipinos). Each material used for the crown was sourced from the wondrous seas of the Philippines and across other countries to further represent the country’s beauty.

Another achievement is that Miss Tourism Philippines 2011 also became a venue for Zuri to show its endearing support. Zuri Creative Chief Director Hershey Chan was one of the judges during the pageant together with Department of Tourism Chief Operations Officer Tito Umali, Travel Update Philippines Publisher Buddy Recio and Christine Cenal of Haribon Foundation. Among the 10 gorgeous candidates, three of them bested to own the titles – Janet Morris (Miss Tourism), Sabrina Gayoso (1st runner up), and Abbygale Rey (2nd runner up). Having been blessed to be part of the competition, Alissa Jean Du of Southville International School despite not being in the top three list, was awarded as the Miss Zuri 2011. The eyes of the judges were caught by this lovely lady’s beauty, charm, and elegance. She will then be the next face of Belle collections for Zuri.

A booth was present during the pageant to highlight the collections of Zuri. Special gifts were also given to the first 500 visitors of the booth. From showcasing the featured pieces, people got the chance to experience the wearable art up close. Truly, it was a night that rewarded the Filipino people with another face to be proud of – the newly reigned Miss Tourism Philippines 2011. No one can deny that these women with the beauty and brains advocate love and loyalty to our mother land.
