An agreement was successfully made between two established companies in the country. ZURI Wearable Art (Zuri) appointed Illumine Import Export Design Marketing Corporation (Illumine) as the exclusive distributor and representative of Zuri products for Southeast Asia, Japan & USA.

The beginning of the month of March in the year of 2011 became a stepping stone for Zuri to reach its target market across countries. Over the past seven years, Zuri has been making a big name for the quality and originality of its products. The design and manufacturing team of Zuri in the Philippines renders its fully committed service to invite the international audience. Since 2006, avid customers continue to strengthen their love affair with the wearable art. And due to the increasing demand of the products, Zuri decided to find a trusted partner that would extensively promote Zuri’s design thrust.

Last March 1, Zuri and Illumine formally signed an agreement. Both parties lend each other’s hand to take a journey for a successful marketing goal. Illumine is a marketing firm whose platforms involve brand distribution, brand development and marketing, online sales and customized design and production outsourcing. It is a team that links fashion products to the global market with its expertise and experience. Since excellence is within Illumine’s core values, the efforts of the partners build interest and impact in one. It is the interest to promote Zuri as a significant wearable art; and it is the impact of making a fashion forward change in the industry.

Zuri Creative Chief Director Hershey Chan together with Illumine President Darryl Modelo share both creativity and passion for the art. This is also a combination of social responsibility and profitability. The development of this partnership would lead to helping the economy to revive – from creating jobs for the poor people and up to revitalizing profit for the country’s financial stability. It is not simple a marketing geared towards fame, but a meaningful partnership most remarkably for advocacy.

Her family, who has been supportive all throughout the course of the pageant, played a significant role to the fame she was blessed with. Despite not being included in the top three Miss Tourism winners, it is with great joy that she proudly represents one of the most prestigious Jewelry brands in the country. As Lyte delightfully shared, “It was very overwhelming. When Ms. Hershey Chan further elaborated about being chosen as Miss Zuri, I felt very blessed. The Birth of the First
Zuri Wearable Art launches the First Couture Collection

The first ever Couture collection of ZURI WEARABLE ART was showcased during the Singapore International Jewellery Show at Suntec City, Singapore last July 30 to August 2, 2009.

With the right bearing and admired confidence, the ambassadors of ZURI WEARABLE ART (Zuri) walked all the way through the ramp for a mission and vision. It is the mission to proclaim the unique beauty of the new collection and the vision to capture future lovers of wearable art. Singapore International Jewellery Show (SIJS) is an annual jewellery, gems, accessories, and lifestyle exhibition held to promote the works of passionate artists world-wide. Over 190 qualified participants from 25 countries internationally get to join this exhibition every year. After three years when Zuri brand was established in 2006, it ventured out into a quest for innovative designs and finally owned a spotlight in SIJS.

Zuri Couture is a collection of wearable art that heightens the allure of the fabric with the help of passion and creativity. These artistically-designed pieces come in collar neck pieces which turn a woman to a sophisticated and voguish icon. Each stone, each strand, and each fabric used in any piece constructs an image of an expressive woman. She is a woman who wants an intimate fashion sense – the sole one that has an extraordinary personality. Zuri gave a new trail in wearing jewellery by introducing wearable art.

Together with other jewellery brands, Zuri proved that the artful charm is right within dedicated and creative hands. This jewellery exhibit in 2009 opened the doors for Zuri to be introduced to a wider and better market which in the first place deserved a bunch of bows.

Trends & Traditions - Talk by Hershey Chan During the 5th International Jewellery Show in Singapore

Hershey Chan

Zuri Wearable Art Trends and Traditions

The Woman behind Zuri
Creative Chief Officer Hershey Chan talks about her creations and inspiration during the 5th International Jewellery Show in Singapore last July 29 to Aug. 02, 2009

ZURI Wearable Art Creative Chief Officer Hershey Chan was given the privilege to speak about “Trends and Inspiration” that made her successful in the field of designing and manufacturing wearable art. The talk was held during the Singapore International Jewellery Show 2009 at Suntec City, Singapore.

For Hershey Chan, a mix of relationship, influence, and inspiration is the key holder of success – relationship that came to bind, influence that came to teach, and inspiration that came to strengthen. Zuri had come a long way across joys and challenges before hitting the right track. As the etymology of the word ‘Zuri’ is beautiful in Swahili word, the pieces have a one-of-a-kind outlook. Each gives an emphasis on quality and intricacy of design which elevates it to a wearable art. “My innovation in calling my works ‘Functional Art Pieces’ asserts the idea that wearing our jewellery is as magical as wearing an art like paintings & sculpture. Our pieces are not only accessories but actually works of art that fall under the category of Wearable art”, says Hershey Chan. These are especially made for women who desire to be remembered and for women who possess a heart for fashion.

As words of inspiration continued, each collection establishes the wearable art to the audience as a piece that was made from precious stones and other finest Asian materials. And among all materials, gemstones are the favourites of Designer Chan that visibly revolve around all the collections. Zuri Statement is the symbol of Designer Chan’s love for nature that directs to the hue of red coral and turquoise with pearl embellishments. Zuri Couture is the magical approach to high fashion collar neck pieces and handbags, while the Classic collection depicts a simple but a radically beautiful masterpiece.

Jewellery trends were given highlight to connect the latest clothing to the existence of Zuri’s wearable art. Also, helpful tips were raised by Designer Chan to glam up any season’s outfit. It was given statement that the spotlight for jewellery was made known to create one’s signature look. To add, color schemes gave the natural blend of design and the material. Even the components of a synthetic and real gemstones or diamonds were discussed. The credibility of the speaker was indeed shown with the factual but subjective and friendly approach of the talk. As a result, the audience were satisfied and inspired at the same time. Truly, to master a specific craft really takes hard work and a lot of patience. Designer Chan managed to play with it in an enjoyable manner. It took her a dose of love, effort, and passion. “I take life itself as the biggest inspiration. I am inspired by everything I experience: galleries, travels, sinful desserts, and a great love as well!” Designer Chan ended.
